The Year of the Snake: Shedding Old Skins, Sacred Endings & Coming Home to Myself

There’s a particular kind of electricity that moves through me every time I launch a new season of Unapologetically Yours… a mix of purpose, relief, creativity, and that full-body YES that tells me I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

Season 3 feels different though. It feels deeper, braver, more aligned with the woman I’m becoming. And after the year I’ve had, stepping back behind the microphone feels like coming home to myself.

Some seasons of life arrive gently. This one did not. It asked me to shed - loudly, messily, and all at once - and now I finally get to share the truth of that journey with you.

In this first episode of the new season, I’m sharing a solo episode to tell the truth about what’s been unfolding behind the scenes: a divorce finalized after 867 days, a major business merger, and an unexpected goodbye to the woman who helped raise my kids. It’s raw, it’s honest, and it feels like the exact place Season 3 needed to begin.

You can listen to the full episode here:

In this episode, I talk about:

  • The spiritual and energetic meaning of 2025 as the Year of the Snake

  • How it felt to exit my business after 12 years of running the show

  • The grief and gratitude of saying goodbye to our nanny of nine years

  • Shifting from ‘always-on’ agency founder to a more present, everyday mom

  • Clearing physical and emotional clutter to make space for what’s next

  • What I’m dreaming into: writing, music, healing events, and season 3 of the podcast

… and so much more!

Life is funny. There’s a lot of good reason to fear change… and a lot of good reason to welcome it.

My Key Takeaways from This Season of Shedding

  1. Shedding is a practice of trust, not just loss.
The Year of the Snake has become more than a cute astrological theme; it’s an invitation to release identities, roles, and objects that no longer fit. Every bag donated, every contract signed, every goodbye has been a way of saying: I trust that who I’m becoming deserves a life that actually fits.

  2. Chapters Close to Open Doors.
12 years after founding my marketing agency, I merged with another business. It was the exit I had been praying for to make way for what is next. The day the papers were signed, my divorce was also finalized. Trust the divine timing of your life.

  3. Care work is spiritual work.
Our nanny didn’t just “watch the kids.” She stocked our pantry, remembered our rhythms, and quietly carried parts of my load I didn’t even know I was holding. Losing that support has shown me how sacred care work really is—and how deeply we are impacted when those anchors shift.

  4. Redefining motherhood and work is allowed.
Moving into a part-time role with the merged agency has changed my days entirely. I’m doing more school drop-offs, more pick-ups, more bedtime snuggles—and also more writing, podcasting, and creative dreaming. It’s not about being a “full-time” or “part-time” parent; it’s about living in a way that feels honest in this season.

  5. Spaciousness is not laziness - it’s preparation.
Clearing closets, simplifying my schedule, and saying no to certain opportunities has created space I haven’t felt in years. That space is where new ideas land: music, retreats, breathwork gatherings, and the next evolution of Unapologetically Yours. Spaciousness is fertile ground, not empty air.

This solo episode left me feeling tender, grateful, and so excited for what’s to come in Season 3. It reminded me that life doesn’t wait for us to feel “ready” before initiating change - and that our bodies often know it’s time to shed before our minds catch up. Whether you’re moving through divorce, job changes, parenting shifts, or a quieter internal reckoning, I hope this episode helps you feel a little less alone.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, creative, parent, or someone standing on the brink of a decision, there’s something here for you. This episode is about self-trust, resilience, creative rebirth, and the courage it takes to walk into the unknown without abandoning yourself.
